Martin Bodenham is a former FIFA and Premier League Football Referee who’s career spanned many years and culminated in appointments such as the 1997 League Cup Final between Leicester City and Middlesbrough. Retirement came a year later in1998 and in 2001 he became the first ever head of refereeing for the county of Sussex. He was also a Premier League match observer, referees assessor and a UEFA delegate.
After retiring from the whistle Martin concentrated on becoming a senior cricket umpire and after eight years of hard dedicated work he was added to the ECB reserve list in 2006 standing at the wicket for England A versus Sri Lanka at Worcester in May of that year. Martin is currently Umpiring on the Full ECB Umpires list.
Martin has created history in becoming the only person in this country to officiate at the top level in both Football and Cricket.
