An Introduction to Scoring & Umpiring

The Isle of Wight Association of Officials (IW ACO) are running scorers and umpires introductory courses on Saturday 12th October. Each session will last around 2-3 hours & will provide basic knowledge for those wishing to score or umpire in the future – it also provides a good base for the Level 1 courses planned in January or February

Venue – Arreton Cricket Club, PO30 3AN

9.30am – An Introduction to Scoring - The aim of this courses is to provide you with the basic skills and knowledge to record a cricket match. It won’t teach you everything you need to know, but it will give you the tools and confidence to get started.

1pm – An Introduction to Umpiring - This short 2-3 hour standalone course will give any cricket enthusiast curious about becoming an umpire a taste for what the role entails, and outline what lies ahead if you would like to pursue your interest.

Tea & coffee will be available + lunch will be provided for those undertaking both courses.
