IW Umpire Challenge

Whilst we are awaiting the exact details it looks like recreational cricket will return on Saturday 11th July; we have already noted many friendly fixtures being arranged & the sheer volume of fixtures is likely to mean they will not be enough qualified officials for each game.
As you will probably already know the Association of Cricket Officials has introduced online training for both umpires & scorers described as “giving you the tools to enable you to officiate in matches at the basic recreational level where there are no independent officials are appointed.”
It would be great to get as many people qualified to this level as possible & to incentivise completion we have secured funding from the Association of Cricket Officials:
- The first 50 people to complete the online umpires course via this link http://booking.ecb.co.uk/d/07qnt4 will get £10 each for their club*
- Anyone who completes the scorers course via this link https://booking.ecb.co.uk/c/express/501245fd-e917-45e8-827e-f14d10a1d0cb will be added into a draw at the end of September when the first prize will be £100 & the second prize £50, again for their club*
*The club must be affiliated to the Isle of Wight Cricket Board & you will need to tick yes for “Cricket Organisations - Choose this option to hear from the ECB about these cricket organisations, or from the cricket organisations themselves” otherwise we cannot contact you.
The good news is anyone who has completed the training already will receive the credit for their club.
One final point around the process, when you register you will receive an email confirming your registration but it will take up to 48 hours to receive the link to the actual training.
