They both hit fifties in the Isle of Wight Board’s 64 run win over Hursley Park – Duggan, who will be returning to his Island roots next summer after a summer with Portsmouth & Southsea, being run out for 50, and Willis smashing an unbeaten 54, with five 6's in the last over.
It is the first time in the 12-year history of the Under-16 league two batsmen have made half-centuries in the same innings.
The Island’s 176-4 (Matt Perriam, 3-31) proved too many for Hursley Park, who replied with 112-4 (Joe Thoebald, 28*).
Ironically, the Islands batting flopped in their first match, the IWCB being dismissed for 85 (Ben Herridge, 42) by South Wilts, who cantered to a five-wicket win.
