Newport successfully retained the Harwoods Renault Indoor Cup with a straight-forward victory over reigning league champions Ventnor. Batting first, Ventnor lost a succession of early wickets, including losing Martin Blackman to a superb catch by Gareth Bricknell, and were 27-4 after four overs. Opener Adam Hose (52) kept the scoreboard moving, the Ventnor innings ending on an under-par 85 all out after 9 overs. Knowing they only needed to bat steadily to claim the silverware Newport had a minor scare losing two early wickets, until Tom Dye (36no) and Stuart Gurney (26no) saw them home.

Earlier in the evening, Newport had booked their final place with a comfortable win over Niton. Despite a solid start Niton could not capitalise and collapsed to 105 all out (Joby Wells 27), a total Newport had no trouble chasing down with overs and wickets to spare, Gareth Bricknell anchoring the innings with 27no. Ventnor secured their final place with a resounding win over Ryde Cavaliers, who set about chasing Ventnors' 173-3 (Martin Blackman 45no, Mark Whyte 29no) in determined fashion, before a flurry of wickets saw them slump to 62 all out.

Ventnor 173-3, Ryde Cavaliers 62-6 (Ventnor won by 111 runs)
