Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course

The Isle of Wight Council are running a Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course on the 9th October at Ryde Accademy, 6pm (3hrs). If any one at your club needs to atttend the course please complete the application form below and send back to the following email sports. unit@iow.gov.uk.

The Course: -

Every child deserves to enjoy playing sport and engaging in physical activity.

This interactive workshop will help coaches recognise poor practice and the red flags of abuse, while also prompting a review of your coaching practice to ensure that you provide a positive and enriching experience for all children.

Nearly half a million coaches have been through the Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop in the last 20 years or so.

The workshop, updated in May 2019, has been developed in partnership with the NSPCC and CPSU and includes new scenarios giving you the opportunity to learn through discussion, exploring the consequences of those decisions in a safe and supportive environment, helping to increase your confidence.

The course is aimed at new coaches and team managers and club welfare officer. Coaches looking to resit can do an online course, please contact Stuart on stuart.chatfield@iwcb.org.uk
