The 2016 Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards
The 2016 ‘Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards’ will be hosted by Lorde Grade at the Medina Theatre on 16th March 2017. This event recognises outstanding achievement or service, amongst sportsmen and women of all ages and celebrates our Isle of Wight success stories.|
I attach a nomination form for the 2016 Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards and I would urge you to consider if any of your members deserve to be nominated for an award. Putting forward a nomination is acknowledging in public, outside of the confines of your club, the success that a member or team has achieved, or the contribution that a volunteer or officer has made to the progress of the club. Categories are listed on the form but do please make a nomination if you think it is deserving, even if it doesn’t appear to fit into one of the categories listed.
The individual sports reports published each week in the County Press show that there is much to proclaim, but there are also many un-sung heroes. We would like to see as many sports and clubs as possible represented in the nominations, so do please consult your coaches, committee members, youth leaders, Trustees etc and make as many nominations as you feel are appropriate.
The nominations will be judged by an independent panel. All nominees will be awarded a certificate and the finalists will be invited to the IOW Sports Achievement Awards on March 16th 2017.
This year there will also be two Sporting School Award’s for the primary and senior school that has done the most to promote sport. The nomination form for these awards will be distributed separately.
The deadline for nominations is 10th January 2016. We look forward to receiving your nominations.
