The U12 indoor cricket league started at Rew Valley on the 10th Jan with two new teams Arreton and Cowes taking each other on in the first fixture. Cowes batted first and scored 126 - 4. Arreton looked on target to trouble the Cowes target but quick wickets fell and they ended up 30 runs short as they were bowled out for 96.

Ventnor Gold beat East Cowes by 6 wickets in the second game of the night. East Cowes set a good target of 100 - 3 but Ventnor’s strong batting line up made easy work winning with a couple of overs to spare.

Ryde took on Venntor Blue in the last game of the night and set them a tough target of 152 to win the game. Ryde won the game by 62 runs as they restricted Ventnor to 90 - 1.

Week 2 saw Ryde beat Newport by 49 run. Ryde's Ian Hailes (25) & Preston Draper (24) finish not out and Jacob Palin (23) got Ryde to 138 - 3. A magnificent 46 from Max Pointer was not enough for Newport as they were all out for 89.

Shanklin started their league season with a win over Arreton. Ben Fry's 50no was the highlight of the innings for Shanklin which lead them to a 45 run win.

Ventnor Gold took on Cowes in the last game of week 2. Jess Glover’s 3-25 helped reduce Cowes to 50 all out. Billy Graham (1-11) took an early wicket but that did not stop Ventnor Gold winning by 5 wickets.
