Now that the 2017 cricket season is well underway I would like to invite you to come along to an All Island Cricket Get-Together to discuss some of the big issues that face your club.

The Cricket Board is aware that the number of people both playing and volunteering in cricket is less than it was a few years ago and really wants to hear from your club or association what the main concerns are. The Get-Together is not being put together to discuss the Island League structure or format as any issues a club may have on the way island league cricket is structured will continue to be considered by the Clubs Committee chaired by Glenn Bailey. Instead it will hopefully allow ALL clubs and associations to come together to talk about what may be working well for yourselves or, importantly, what is not going so well so that we can all learn and support each other.

The All Island Cricket Get-Together will take place at Porchfield Cricket Club on Thursday 22 June at 7.30pm and I have arranged for Robert Chambers Regional Club and Facilities Manager from the ECB to also come along and give a quick talk (and take questions) on funding and planning a project that may be of help to your club.

Directors from the Cricket Board will be there to hear what you think about cricket on the island given the experience of the first few weeks of the season and take away any ideas or thoughts you may have.

I really hope you can come along to Porchfield Cricket Club on 22 June. If you cannot make this date please feel free to e mail or call me with anything you consider important for us to know.

Look forward to seeing you at the All Island Cricket Get-Together.
