The annual IWCB outdoor 6 a side was staged at Northwood and Plessey on Sunday 13th September. A total of ten teams took part and some very good natured cricket was played. There were some very close games in the preliminary round with Brading just overcoming GKN and Northwood II edging past Arreton. In the next round Ryde Cavaliers I's proved too strong for Bembridge, Brading beating Northwood I and Northwood II got the better of a good Cowes Centurions side with a hatrick from Ashley Goldsmith. Ventnor overpowered St Helens and in the semis they proved too strong for Northwood II and Ryde Cavaliers beat Brading who never recovered from losing 3 wickets in the first over. In the final, Ryde Cavaliers only managed 51 from their 6 overs. Ventnor, despite skipper Charlie Freeston being caught & bowled first ball, eased home with 11 balls to spare, thus winning back the trophy they lost last year.
In the plate final an excellent match saw Northwood score 72 from their 6 overs and Cowes Centurions chased all the way but fell 4 runs short.
At the conclusion of the finals, the trophies were presented by Mrs Jean Hilson .
