Three teams remain undefeated at the top of Div 1 of the Leslies Motors Indoor League following the 2nd week of matches at Cowes Enterprise College last week.

Ryde, Brading and EPP have each won both their opening games and it was Brading who showed they are serious contenders this year by hitting the highest score of the evening as they beat Prison Officers by 100 runs. Brading’s score of 171-2 was dominated by not out scores from Alan Johns (26), Mark Hartnell (45) and Chris Higgins (26) and 2 wickets for Simon Moxlow made sure the Officers fell well short in their reply (71-5).

Ryde maintained their great start to the season by comfortably beating Shanklin &Godshill 1 by 65 runs. Despite Mackenzie Wright taking 2-27, 25 not out from Ryde’s Dave Pratt, 26 not out from Liam Ringer and 36 from Mark Oatley took their side to 132-4. Only Seb Egerton-Read (24) was able to put up some resistance as 2 wickets each for Ringer and Simon Wratten meant Shanklin &Godshill 1 finished well short on 67 all out.

The tightest game of the evening saw EPP overcome Northwood by just 9 runs. Tommy Barton top scored with 45 not out as EPP made 132-3. Northwood fought hard with Jordan Langdon hitting 36 but fell just short on 123-5.
