Kyle Blair's second 'Five-For' in two days helped Ryde Under 15s secure victory in their cup semi-final at Northwood yesterday. Having won the toss, Ryde skipper Ben Baker chose to bat, and both he and his opening partner Will Vaughan immediately got into their stride, as they put on 88 for the first wicket within the first ten overs. When Vaughan fell to Sam Metcalf for 31, Baker continued to push on, before he too was bowled by Metcalf for a very useful 43. Ryde's number three James Fountaine added a quick fire 26, as Ryde finished on 150 for 3 from their 20 overs.

It didn't take long for Ryde's Kyle Blair to find his line, and in two overs of good pace bowling, he took three wickets. Leg spinner Freddie Ware then entered the attack and he managed to take two wickets, including Northwood's opener Callum Witham, who had struck a very quick 20. Northwood's best partnership of the game was for the seventh wicket, with Michael Ilott hitting a disciplined 27, but with Northwood needing 49 runs to win off 6 overs, Blair returned to the attack to take a double wicket maiden and complete his 'Five-For', which mirrored his performance from the previous day while playing for Ryde's adult Sunday side. Northwood's challenge saw them eventually fall 28 runs short, as they finished on 122 all out.

With figures of 5-10 from four overs, Blair picked up the man of the match award, and Ryde will now look forward to a final against Ventnor at Steephill on Thursday.
