Board Chairman to Stand Down

For older news stories please visit the news archive page

This is to give notice that I will be standing down as Chair of the IWCB at the AGM in December. Over the last year my time to devote to cricket has been reduced and I have been balancing work for the Board and for my Club.

As many of you know over the last couple of years at Ventnor CC we have lost many of our established officials and it is time for me to spend more time with the Club.

This is a good time to make a change as there are major developments at ECB level which are beginning to come down to County level with the great focus on developing the number of people playing all forms of cricket. It is also coming to the end of a financial period 2017 and a new set of plans will be needed.
My thanks to all who have helped not only me but the IWCB and cricket in general over the last few years.

With all the changes that are happening at the ECB and cricket in general this seems to be a good time to review the organisation of the IWCB. We are looking to open up discussion for the position of Chair and the organisation of the IWCB.

We have a meeting planned for Thursday 11th August at 7.00 at Newclose CCG and we have decided to open this up to all members to discuss the future of the organisation of Island cricket.

It would be helpful if you could put your ideas on paper to me before the meeting. The aim of the meeting will be to collect ideas to put to members before the AGM in December. In your thoughts and ideas please remember that the IWCB is a company and has a responsibility to all areas of Island cricket.

If there is anyone interested in the position of Chair or would like more information please contact me.
