Ryde CC reached the final by beating Ventnor CC in the first semi-final of the day, whilst Ryde Cavs battled their way into the final by beating Newport in a game that swung back and forth.
Ryde CC won the toss and Captain George Griffith chose to send in his openers Theo Dallaz and Ben Shaw to start the innings. Ryde Cavaliers started better with Shaw being removed by Dexter Collins with only 2 runs on the board. But Ryde started to find their stride as Dalloz and Harry Stead (21no) started to put together a great partnership which was only brought to an end when Dalloz was retired for reaching 25.
Charlie Bligh gave Ryde Cavs a little hope of keeping Ryde below a hundred when he removed Jack Oldridge for 0 but this was short lived as Griffith came in and played a skippers role and steadied the ship, adding 19 to the total of 107.
Ryde Cavalier struggled with their reply due to some tight bowling from Ben Shaw (3-7) and Harry Stead (1-13) and it was not until Nial Powell (18) came to the crease for Ryde Cavaliers that they start to keep the score board ticking over but this came to an end when Powell was removed by a fine catch by James Ware of the bowling of Stead.
Ryde cruised to victory when Gurmanov Dhaliwal was bowled by Shaw giving them a 45 run win and the cup for a second year.
