The 2018 Junior Cricket presentation took place last Wednesday at Ryde School. The evening was a celebration of the club competition winners and the county players and sides successes over the 2018 season. Cricket Board chair Phil Mew welcomed over 90 parents and players to the evening and Andy Woodward (IW IOW201819Head Coach) was MC for the evening.

The winner of the Senior Player of the Year who was awarded the Bill & Val Palmer Cup went to Dan Cox who not only scored his first century (102no) for the county against Dorset but showed great dedication and commitment to playing and training. The Anne Bryant Shield, which is for the junior player of the season was won by Oscar Vandercasteele who has developed greatly throughout the season and played a vital role in the successful U13 team and also played for the U15s.  

The Graham Sprack Cup was present by Graham’s son Will Sprack to Beck Jude from the disability side for completing her first full county season with the Islands soft ball team and taking great strides in her cricket development over the season. Special mention went to Zeph Wells who joined a small select group of Island players who have represented the South West at the Bunbury Festival for the South West Team. He also was selected to play against the West Indies U15 for the region as well. There were individual awards presented for each county team and medals for each playing member of the team.
