Newport went to the top of the league with a comprehensive 10 wicket defeat of Ventnor III at Steephill. The home side scored 158 for 8 but this total was surpassed by the Newport openers Stuart Gurney 47 not out and T Dye 75 not out in 22 overs. For Newport Ashley Brett took 3 for 20.

Defending Champions Northwood suffered a surprise 5 wicket home defeat to Cowes. Hugh Calloway scored his second not out hundred in 3 innings with 105 as Cowes pulled off the shock win. N Heelan 54 and D Neal 67 were the top scorers for Northwood.

St Helens moved into 2nd place with a comfortable 86 run win over Ryde Cavaliers. Batting first St Helens scored 256 thanks to M Watson coming in at No 9 and scoring 89. Harry Bradley took 3 wickets. In reply Cavaliers were dismissed for 175 with Andy Loudon's 60 being the only high score. Hadleigh Carkeet 4 for 26 and Lee Brown 5 for 20 were the mai St Helens wicket takers.

At Westhill Shanklin overcame GKN by 60 runs. M Dignan 94 and Chris Lammiman 78 were the top scorers in Shanklin's 274 for 6. In reply Ben Wadmore's 52 was the top score in GKN's total of 214. Chris Lammiman rounded up a great personal day taking 5 for 16.

In Division 2 half centuries from Phil Mew 52 and Trevor Mew 81 helped Godshill reach 270 for 5. In reply Arreton were all out for 136 with Carl Prean batting the whole of the Arreton innings for 64 not out. P Mew took 5 Arreton wickets for 24.

In a close game at Victoria Recreation Ground, Cowes II beat Newport II in a close game by 4 wickets. The home side soring 158 for 5 which the visitors passed with 4 wickets remaining.

Freswater overcame nine men Shanklin II by 8 wickets after the visitors for just 46 with Vandecasteele taking 6 for 14.

In the top match of the day in Division 2 , Whitecroft beat Bembridge by 4 wickets thanks to 129 from opener Andy Potts. For Bembridge P McDonald 56 and K Lacey 59 not out were the top scorers in their total of 215 for 6.

Northwood II were awarded their match against Ryde Cavaliers II who could not raise a side.
