10 Nov 2013 Newport returned to form in the indoor league on Sunday evening with a five-wicket victory over Niton. Ash Brett took 2-29 for Newport, who restricted Niton to 119-5, despite the best efforts of Ben Fooks (38*) and Joby Wells (24). The chase was led by Harry Dye (30*) and there was ample support from the middle order of Harris Payne (28*) and Nat Riddett (25*) as Newport passed the target with an over to spare. East Cowes maintained their 100% start to the season with a 34-run win over Shanklin. East Cowes posted an impressive 157-3, Mark Hartnell (39*) and Alan Johns (29*) continuing their good start to the season, with Chris Parsons adding 27*. The Shanklin top order failed in reply, and a battling 45 from Harry Bradley was not enough for his side who were bowled out for 123. Ryde have two wins from two after beating Northwood by six wickets. Northwood made 107-4 from their 12 overs, Niall Casson top-scoring with an unbeaten 37. Tom Roscoe (29*) and Josh Procter (25*) led the way for Ryde, who chased down the target with seven balls to spare.

In Division 2, IW Prison Officers got their first win after a three-wicket victory over Island Bakeries. Matt Webb hit 29* and Ellis Ridett 26* but Bakeries could only post 108-1. John Turner (35*) and Alex Oliver (27*) hit the majority of the runs in the chase, as IW Prison Officers reached their target with 2.1 overs to spare. Ryde Cavaliers II also recorded their first points of the season following a 66-run win over Shanklin II. Matt Walter top-scored with 21 as Cavaliers posted 127-5, despite Morgan Perrin's 2-33. Just Christian Davis (21) made double figures for Shanklin II in reply as they were bowled out for just 61. East Cowes II are also off the mark, after they beat IW Health Associates by 27 runs. Ramesh Singh took 3-38 for IW Health Associates, but there were fine knocks from Dave Cox (46*), Pete Hayward (37*) and Paul Hunt (26*) as East Cowes II made 145-3. Lewis Lewis made 31 for IW Health Associates in reply, but in a good all-round team performance, four East Cowes II bowlers took one wicket each, IW Health Associates falling short on 118-4. Newport II are the leaders in Division 2 after becoming the only team to win their opening two games. 2-23 from Ellie Watson and 2-29 from Dan Hayward helped to bowl Whitecroft out for 101, Wes Maynard hitting 26. Stuart Gurney once again led from the front with 27*, and Tom Stafford added 24 as Newport won by three wickets with 2.3 overs remaining.
