19 Oct 2014 Newport have made it into the indoor cup semi-finals for the third successive season after a tense victory over last season's finalists, Ryde. Ash Brett (2-17), Gareth Bricknell (2-30) and Louis Payne (2-34) took two wickets each as Ryde were bowled out for 119, Josh Procter top-scoring with 39. In reply, Newport slumped from 50-0 to 64-3, but Harry Dye saw his side home with an unbeaten 36, Newport winning by 2 wickets in the final over. Newport's opponents will be Northwood after a comprehensive victory over Ryde Cavaliers. Northwood batted first and made 146-2, thanks mainly to Gavin Paddock (25*) and Adam Birch (25*). Ryde Cavaliers never recovered from 20-3 and dawdled to 59-3 from their 12 overs, Paddock with 2-14 for Northwood.

In the other half of the draw, five-man IW Prison Officers overcame Island Bakeries in a high-scoring encounter. All six of the Island Bakeries batsmen were run out as they made 150, Tom Marriott (47) and Gary Breitenstein (36) the main contributors. IW Prison Officers, however, started in positive fashion and were 96-0 before the halfway stage. Matt Webb took 2-24 to drag Bakeries back into the game, but 53 from Adam Wilson and 34 from Alex Oliver was enough to see Prison Officers to a tight one-wicket victory. Ryde II are the other side to make it through to the semi-finals after a five-wicket win over Godshill. No Godshill batsman made over 6 as they were bowled out for just 72, Harry Wratten (3-15) and Andy Woodward (2-31) doing the majority of the damage. Woodward then made an unbeaten 24 and with the support of Dave Buckeridge (21*) saw Ryde II home in the tenth over.
