9 Nov 2014 Northwood claimed their first indoor league victory of the season on Sunday evening with a win over East Cowes off the final ball of the match. East Cowes batted first and made 138-3, including 55 from the final three overs. Mark Hartnell top-scored for East Cowes with an unbeaten 27, with Alan Johns (24) and Kevin Merkel (21*) supporting him well. In reply, a Northwood victory looked unlikely with the side 72-2 after eight overs, Dan Cox with a spell of 2-36. However, Jeff Barrett (29*) got his team back into the match before Ashley Goldsmith (36*) returned to the crease, hitting a six with the final ball of the match to seal a three wicket victory. Ryde made it two wins from two with a convincing 104 run win over Niton. Mark Oatley (42*) helped Ryde to 174-2 from their 12 overs, Charlie Sammons (27*) and Stuart Robertson (25*) also retiring. In reply, Niton never really got going and, despite 27 from Ben Fooks, slumped to 70 all out, Oatley (2-6) and Josh Procter (2-10) with two wickets each. Newport remain unbeaten this season after a 99 run victory over Island Bakeries. Martin Blackman continued his fine run of form with an unbeaten 30, with Harry Dye (28) also making a decent contribution as Newport posted 171-3. In reply, Sam Richards (26) top-scored but Bakeries were bowled out for 72.

Cup finalists Ryde II have made a good start to Division 2 after defeating Shanklin by 50 runs. Simon Wratten top-scored for Ryde II with 33 as they posted 143-5, Simon Mead with impressive figures of 3-29. Mead then hit an unbeaten 26 before Robin Moore made 33 not out, but it was all too little too late and Shanklin finished on 93-4. IW Prison Officers also made an impressive start to the league season, proving too strong for East Cowes II. Adam Wilson (72) and Marc Allen (57) piled on the runs as IW Prison Officers recovered from 31-2 to make 172, Dave Cox (2-34) and Sam McQueen (2-42) with two wickets each. Dan Cox (25*) batted well in the chase, but East Cowes failed to keep up with the run rate and ended on 108-3, a 64 run win for IW Prison Officers. Ryde Cavaliers were also victorious, beating IW Health Associates by 3 wickets. Lewis Lewis (20) was the only man in double figures for IW Health Associates as they were bowled out for 117. Matt Walter (26*) top-scored in reply, Don Roe's 2-32 in vain as Ryde Cavaliers passed the target in the 11th over. Godshill were the other winners on the night, defeating Newport II in a low-scoring encounter. Newport II started positively, reducing Godshill to 15-3, but a determined Phil Mew (29) helped his side to 79, Kevin Winchcombe taking 2-15. Newport II appeared to be easing to victory on 20-0 but three wickets in five balls for Malcolm Gibson (3-14) changed the game before Mew wrapped the tail up with 2-9, Newport II bowled out for 65 despite 19 from Tom Stafford and 16 from Joe Shurmer, Godshill winners by 14 runs.
