U12 Indoor Round Up - 2/2/18

The first game saw Bembridge take on Porchfield & Island Bakeries. Bembridge opened up with the Cobb brother Rueben and Rhydian who put on a strong start putting on 41 runs until Rhydian was bowled by Ptolemy Letchfordfor 16. Rueben retire on 25 and Mason Walker made 16 before being well caught by George Bradshaw of the bowling of Rory Allen’s bowling. Jack McCallum (4) and Alfie Attrill (5) saw off the final overs and set a target of 116 for Porchfield & Island Bakeries to win.

The Porchfield & Island Bakeries reply started slowly with the loss of Charles Pulfrey (6) run out and Connor Rollason (6) bowled by Rueben Cobb. George Bradshaw (25no) and Rory Allen (17no) started to get the response back on track with some great batting and seeing them cross the line after 9.2 and collect the 4 points for the victory.

Ryde eased to victory over Ventnor in the second game as all their batters reach double figures with Henry Takel 27no & Flynn Beare 28no top scoring. The only 2 wickets falling to Caleb Wells who bowled Ollie Lacey for 13 and ran out Charlie Hayward on 12. Ryde set Ventnor a tough target of 155 for victory.

The early wicket of Rollo Little for 1 was an early set back in the run chase but Ashton Harper (25) and Sam Mills (28) both retired . The rest of the Ventnor batters proved difficult to remove but could not put the runs on the board that were required and left Ryde winning by 49 runs.
