Ryde continue to dominate Div 1 of the Leslies Motors Indoor Cricket League as they easily overcame Brading in their latest game at Cowes Enterprise College last Sunday.

Brading’s bowlers could not preventanother Ryde batting onslaughtas Dave Pratt 42 not out, Mark Oatley 32 not out and 33 from Josh Proctor took Ryde to147-4. A stubborn 33 from Rob Holdcroft put up some resistance but Brading(76 all out) fell to a 71 run defeat. EPP hit the highest Div 1 score of the season so far as they overcame bottom side Island Bakeries by 51 runs. Ali Wheble (53 not out) continued his fine form with the bat as EPP smashed their way to 177-4, Matt Webb taking 3-27. Bakeries fought hard with not out scores for Ellis Ridett (25), Tom Wells (25) and Tony Cook (28) but tight bowling at the end of the innings kept them to 126-2 and saw EPP home.

With no game for Ryde 2 it was Ryde School who took over top position in Div 2 following a comfortable 71 run win over Prison Officers. Batting first, the School struck 151-4 mainly thanks to Will Mew 35 and Ali Wheble 39 not out. Chris Earley (3-38) bowled well but his Officers side could then only score 80 all out in reply. Cowes are also in contention as they maintained their unbeaten run with a comfortable 83 run victory against Shanklin &Godshill 2. 26 not out from both Josh Rice and Jack Summers, together with 25 not out from Jason Heap took Cowes to 161-2. Jason Heap then took 3-10 as Cowes restricted the Westhill side to just 78-5 in reply. Northwood 2 (145-3) got their first win of the season when they overcame the Cricket Board’s Disability Team (78-2) by 67 runs. Dave Cooper hit 25 not out for Northwood 2 and Jaydon Frankling was undefeated on 26 for the Disability side.
