Ryde Cavaliers had defeated the Isle of Wight Girls Team to reach the final, whilst GKN beat St Helens in the other semi final.
Ryde Cavaliers skipper Ollie Neimiec won the toss and elected to bat first. Neimiec (29 no) and his fellow opener Jack Millward (27) made swift work of reaching 25 runs each and retiring, as did Joe Butcher (26 no) batting at No 3. Leaving Ryde Cavalier in a position to knock up a big score but GKN slowed up the scoring in the last few overs with some tight bowling from Daniel Cox (1-28) and Liam Dunne (0-39). Leaving Ryde Cavaliers to set a target of 146 for GKN to win in their 12 overs.
Daniel Cox (13) and Liam Dunne (16) got GKN's reply of to a swift start hitting 23 in the first overs. But the run chase completely collapsed when the pick of the Ryde Cavaliers bowlers Charlie Bligh (3-31) took a diving catch to his left off his own bowling to remove Cox.
The rest of the GKN batters struggled to get themselves into the runs mainly due to some excellent bowling (Flynn Powell 0-23, Joe Newnham 0-6) and fielding from Ryde Cavaliers and a couple of miss communications from the GKN batters.
Leaving Ryde Cavaliers to take the cup by 94 runs, which tops off a great winter for the Cavaliers players as they won the league on run rate from ventnor.
