Ryde Cavaliers won the under 12 indoor cup with 2 balls to spare in a tight game against Bembridge at Rew Valley last Friday.

After the disappointment of losing the league two weeks ago to Ventnor. Ryde Cavs took on a much improved Bembridge side for the cup. Bembridge batted first and had a disaster of a start as they lost their opening batsman to the first ball of the game as Powell clean bowled Nickman. Bembridge recovered well from this knock back as Moxlow and Bulpitt steadily built a partnership of 25 until Moxlow was well caught by Boakes of the bowling of Humphries for 13. Pope (20) come to the crease and kept the scoring moving forward with Bulpitt who eventually retired on 27. Pope carried his bat and helped Bembridge set Cavs a target of 124 to win.
Ryde Cavs shot out of the traps on their way to reaching the target with Powell hitting a couple of quick fire 6s on his way to 26 not out. He was well supported by Farley who played some nice shot until he chipped one up to Moxlow of the bowling Pope for 20. The Bembridge bowlers then clawed they way back into the game with some really tight middle overs making scoring run tough for Henley and Boakes and giving a grand stand finish where Cavs required 12 of the last over. A wide did not help of the first ball and then Boakes and Henley finished the game of with a sequence of scoring shot to win the cup by 5 wickets.

The
cup was presented to the winning captain Niall Powell from Ryde Cavs.
