27 Jan 2013 Ryde II are now a win away from promotion to the Harwoods Renault Indoor Division 1 after they beat IW Health Associates on Sunday, and Island Bakeries suffered their second consecutive defeat. Ryde II batted first in their match, making 142-4, thanks to 32* from Simon Wratten and 25* from Jadon Buckeridge, David Hands with 2-32 for IW Health Associates. In reply, J Tibbott made 32, but 2-23 from Buckeridge did early damage and IW Health Associates ended 58 runs behind, bowled out for 84. Godshill were the victors in the closest game of the night as they beat Island Bakeries by just seven runs. Steve Thorne smashed 48* and was helped by Ray Winter (25) as Godshill posted 126-4, Sam Richards with 2-10. There were two wickets each for Thorne (2-28) and David Winter (2-29) in the chase to put Bakeries on the back foot and despite super knocks from Steven Williams (44) and Matt Webb (28), they were bowled out in the final over for 119. Shanklin also have a very slight chance of winning the league after a comfortable win over Ryde Cavaliers II. They posted a huge 184-3 in their 12 overs, with big scores coming from Robin Moore (33*), James Lucy (32*) and Matt Lambourne (28*). Despite a quick start from Cavaliers, 2-11 from Lambourne halted their progress and they collapsed to 99 all out, 85 runs short. East Cowes II recorded their second win of the season, defeating IW Prison Officers by 90 runs. Dave Cox top-scored for East Cowes II with 35* as they posted 156-5, John Turner taking 2-41. However, the run chase never really got going, Cox taking 2-14 as IW Prison Officers were bowled out for just 66, Steve Rowe top-scoring with 21.
