Ryde II claimed the Harwoods Renault Indoor Division Two title on Sunday with a 40-run win over Island Bakeries. Jadon Buckeridge top scored with 41 as Ryde II posted 144-4, decent knocks also from Pete Dickinson (34*) and Simon Wratten (31). This meant Bakeries had 9.3 overs to reach the target to have any chance of winning the league and they started very strongly, with 51 runs coming from the first three overs. However, 2-11 from Dickinson, a great catch from Mike Dalloz, and three run outs saw Bakeries collapse to 104 all out, despite a super effort from Matt Webb (54). Shanklin finished second after they beat IW Health Associates by 11 runs in a low-scoring contest. Shanklin posted 109-1, Robin Moore with 26* and Jack Winterbottom 25*. In reply, only Souvik Sanyal could come to terms with the Shanklin bowling, he finished unbeaten on 48, but 2-13 from Ollie Moseley was enough to restrict IW Health Associates to 98-5. Newport II ended the season with their fifth consecutive win, beating Ryde Cavaliers II by 14 runs. Stuart Gurney made it eight retirements in eight games with 34*, and with Matt Flambard (30*) got Newport II up to 132-4. Jack Halder (27*) and Matt Walter (25*) started well for Cavaliers, but the Newport bowlers kept the run rate under control and Cavaliers finished short on 118-2. Godshill were the other winners on the night, as they defeated East Cowes II by 31 runs. 53* from M Gibson and 32* from Steve Thorne saw Godshill reach 151-3 from their 12 overs. Sam McQueen scored 28* in reply, but 2-22 from Thorne and 2-35 from Norton Mew was enough to restrict East Cowes to 120-4.
