9 Dec 2012 Ryde picked up their first points of the indoor season on Sunday with a win over fellow strugglers, Ryde Cavaliers. Ryde batted first and posted a massive 190-2 from their 12 overs, Mark Oatley (44*), Stuart Robertson (30*), Donald Gordon (27*) and Lawrence Tolfrey (27*) all retiring. Early breakthroughs from Robertson (2-11) left Cavaliers in all sorts of trouble, but Graham Gregory (45*) and George Niemiec (27*) got them up to 111-2, Ryde winning by 79 runs. GKN stayed top after a tight game with Niton. Niton batted first, posting 108-4 after Guy Wells' 38*, Steve Wright taking 2-25. In reply, Ben Fooks took 2-39, but 25 from Wright and 24 from Mark Watson helped GKN to a one-wicket win in the 11th over. Newport also kept up their 100% record with a win over Northwood. Northwood could only manage 103-2 from their allocation of overs, Ashley Goldsmith hitting 33* and Mark Tuckwell 32*. Tuckwell then took 2-23 and Ben Baker 2-30, but Tom Dye (41*) and Louis Payne (23*) saw their side home after nine overs with two wickets remaining.

In Division 2, Ryde II took a massive step towards promotion with a last-ball win over Shanklin. James Lucy hit an unbeaten 60 as Shanklin posted 147-4 from their 12 overs. Lucy then took 2-25 with the ball, but Shanklin could do nothing to stop youngsters, Jadon Buckeridge (50*) and Calvin Dickinson (42*) bringing the game home for Ryde off the last ball with two wickets remaining. Ryde Cavaliers II were also winners off the last ball in another thriller. Godshill hit 98-5, with J Robinson hitting 27, Tom Newnham taking 2-13. Godshill did well to keep the runs down in the opening overs, but 26 from Jack Halder was enough to see Cavaliers home, winning by four wickets. Newport II got their first win, beating IW Prison Officers by 83 runs. Matt Flambard smashed 55*, Stuart Gurney 35* and Mike Watson 27* as Newport made a huge 184-3. In reply, only Adam Wilson (42) could come to terms with the Newport bowlers, Prison Officers finishing on 101-4. GKN II are now bottom after losing to IW Health Associates by 3 wickets. GKN batted first, Dave Cox (28*) and Sam McQueen (21) helping them to 132-3. Pete Holdcroft then took 2-30, but 29* from both Souvik Sanyal and Dave Pratt saw the Health Associates home in the final over.
