Shanklin take the Plate

The other saw East Cowes being over powered by a strong Shanklin side who won by 7 wickets and move into the final to meet Bembridge, whilst East Cowes and Ryde Cavaliers battle it out in the 3rd/4th Play off.
East Cowes won the toss and decided to bat first in the 3rd/4th play off and openner Flux batted beatifully to retire on 30. He was well supported by Ash who made 18 before being bowled by Sanderson. Run started to slow up as wWickets started to fall regularly thanks to some good bowling and fielding from the Cavalier players. East Cowes finished on 105 for 6 from their 16 overs.
Ryde Cavs reply started slowly with a couple of quick wickets which but them on the back foot. But Green (16) and Thakrar (15) started to build the score with some controled batting but once Williams bowled Green and Thakrar was run out, the target was just to much and East Cowes secured victory by 20 runs.
Shanklin's openning bowler Lucy started the final on fire with an early wicket and some great bowling that the Bembridge players tough going. Bembridge's Cobb (30no) and Attrill (14) dug in and started to tick over the scoreboard with some good running between the wickets and finding the boundary regulary. Even when Cobb retired, Death continued the good scoring reaching 20 before they run out of overs and finished their innings 121.
Shanklin's openners look comfortable as they started their reply with Howlett and Clemens seeing off the openners with ease and putting Shanklin in a comanding position, until Howlett was run out and then Clemen having to retire having reached 25. But the good start was cemented by Lucy who came in and scored a owled 25 and retired, White was bowled by Cobb which slowed up the scoring, but Attrill and Owen safely got Shanklin over the line, securing a 6 wicket victory.
