17 Nov 2013 Shanklin got their first league points of the season on Sunday evening as they beat Northwood in a nail-biting finish. Shanklin got off to a flying start, hitting 47 runs from the opening two overs, but Northwood got themselves back into the game with some impressive fielding, and with the help of Gavin Paddock (2-34), Shanklin slumped to 80-5. However, the resistance of Andy White (24) meant Northwood were unable to take the last wicket until the final over and Shanklin reached 121 before being bowled out. It was a close chase all the way from Northwood, but Matt Lambourne (3-16) was the difference between the sides, Northwood bowled out seven runs short on 114 despite 33 from Ashley Goldsmith. Ryde were winners in a low-scoring match with Newport. 2-35 from Jack Bartlett looked to have put Newport in a strong position, but with the help of Stuart Robertson (37) and Josh Procter (23), Ryde recovered from 24-3 to post 102-5. The chase never really got going for Newport, who were bowled out for just 65, two wickets each for Mark Oatley (2-10) and Kyle Blair (2-20). East Cowes are still unbeaten after a 76-run win over Ryde II. Mark Hartnell was the star as East Cowes posted 147-4, Hartnell hitting a wonderful 65 not out, with Rob Holdcroft adding an unbeaten 25, Jadon Buckeridge with 2-46 for Ryde II. Despite Simon Wratten's best efforts of 32, no other batsman reached double figures for Ryde II and they were bowled out for 71, Chris Parsons with 2-32.

Godshill are the only unbeaten side remaining in Division 2, continuing their 100% record with a five-wicket thrashing of Whitecroft. M Gibson's impressive figures of 3-15 helped to bowl Whitecroft out for just 69, Graham Gregory with 31. In reply, Ray Winter (19*) led the chase as Godshill reached the target in the seventh over with just one wicket down. Newport II lost their unbeaten record after losing to East Cowes II by 25 runs. Pete Hayward (33*) and Dave Cox (32*) started well for East Cowes II and their momentum was carried on by Martyn Richards (23) as they posted 155-4, Stuart Gurney with 2-44. Paul Hunt's 2-33 put Newport II on the back foot immediately, and even though Gurney (49*) and Mike Watson (21) tried their best, Newport II ended on 130-4. IW Prison Officers piled more misery on IW Health Associates, defeating them by four wickets. The lower-order of Lewis Lewis (25) and Dave Pratt (23) helped to boost IW Health Associates from 21-4 to 78 all out, with all five IW Prison Officers bowlers taking a wicket each. Don Roe (2-25) took two early wickets for IW Health Associates but Neil Westhorpe made 25* to see IW Prison Officers home with 4.3 overs remaining. Island Bakeries returned to winning ways with a 16-run victory over Shanklin II. Tony Cook made 28 for Bakeries, but 2-30 from Sean Phillips helped to bowl them out for 116. Despite the best efforts of Phillips (24*) and Ryan Hall (21), Bakeries held their nerve and managed to keep the runs down, Shanklin II ending on 100-4.
