The toss was won by Ventnor Captain Toby Noyes and he chose to bat first and set the target. Newports opening bowling pair of Joe Shaw (3-9) and Cameron Beal (0-13) made scoring difficult for Zach Hawkins and Sam Mills. Shaw captured Hawkins wicket for 8, which brought Noyes to the crease. Ventnor eventually setting Newport a target of 133.

Newport's opener's Cameron Beal and Will Turrell got things moving quickly as Newport look to chase down the 233. Things were slowed as Turrell was trapped LBW by Dominic Brahmi for 12. But new batter Joe Shaw looked to be positive from the start and played some flowing shots,  Beal retired on 25, which brought Joe Haydon into the action and his quick fire 27 was the turning point of the game and got Newport in touching distance of the win. Shaw looked like he was going to reach 25 but was bowled by Morgan Flood for 24. John Banks (7) hit the winning runs and made it a double win for Newport his year as they captured the U13 and U15 cup competitions.
