The Islands U16s signed off their Natwest Indoor League fixtures at the Ageas Bowl with a fine victory over South East Hants.

The evening didn't start as well as they went down to a narrow defeat to Winchester. The lads batted well and set a challenging target of 145 (B Herridge 34, J Attrill 24) from their 12 overs. But Winchester reach their target with 4 balls and 1 wicket left thanks to a magnification 59no from F Organ.

The Islands second game saw them bat first again and continue their good form as Ben Herridge, Dan Cox, John Buckman and George Willis all reach 25 and retired meaning the Island reaching their highest total of the league of 161.

The South East Hants opener Wright started like a train and reach 25 in quick time, unfortunately he was not supported by his team mates as George Willis (3-22) and James Attrill (2-29) ripped through the SE Hants batting line up and bring back Wright to the crease. He was not able to get back into the game as Willis bowled him first ball back and give the Island a 43 run victory.

The boys finished the league in 10th position but gave a great account of themselves across the 11 games and were not out classed by any team.
