The Islands U16s got off to a winning 2014 in a high scoring game against OTs & Romsey CC. The Island won the toss and elected to bat which was a good decision as the two Ben,s Duggan (25no) and Herridge (26no) both made it to 25 leaving the Island on 73 of 5 overs. George Willis found thing a little tougher departing for 7, whilst Kyle Blair at the other end kept the scoreboard ticking along nicely.

A final acceleration was given to the inning by James Attrill who top scored with 27no in quick fire fashion with a number of 6's which left the final total at 156 for 1.

The OTs & Romsey reply started well and they were up with the run rate thanks to some good batting and wayward bowling. Some tight bowling by Duggan in the middle overs slowed the pace and put them behind the required run rate and effectively out of the game. The only wicket taken was a smart run out by Ben Herridge. The game finished with a 18 run victory for the Islands who's record stands at played 5, won 3 lost 2. The next fixture for the Island team is on the 23rd February.
