24 May 2013 This week saw the start of both the IW County Press Under 11 league, and the Andy Butler Sports Ground Specialist Under 15 league.

Bembridge & St Helens Under 11s got their campaign off to a winning start thanks to a man of the match performance by Corrie Hallett. Bembridge & St Helens scored 287 for 1 in their 16 over pairs cricket match, where each team starts with 200 runs, and in reply Porchfield Bakeries scored 273 for 3, with Matthew Whillier picking up their man of the match award. A young Newport Under 11 side recorded a score of 234 for 5 against Ryde, with Ryde in return scoring 251 for 5. The Northwood v East Cowes match was postponed to a future date, whilst No scorecard has been returned for the Shanklin v Ventnor game.

In the Under 15 league, Northwood got off to a winning start with a 53 run win over Newport. Northwood's Sam Metcalf top scored with 35, well supported by wicket keeper Jake Cass (27) and captain Callum Witham (19) in a total of 126 for 3. In reply only Josh Dunne with 20 was able to offer any resistance to a tight Northwood bowling attack which saw John Jones return figures of 2 for 8 from his four overs. A strong Ventnor side beat Shanklin by 62 runs, recording a score of 177 for 2 in their twenty overs. Ventnor's Hampshire player, Jadon Buckeridge, retired on 51, and fourteen year old Ben Herridge followed up his debut century for Ventnor IIIs on Saturday, with another score of 51 retired. Cameron Bartlett also chipped in with 34 and John Buckman hit 23 not out. In reply, Shanklin scored 115 for 5, with Island player Sam Davis top scoring with 24, and M Perrin hitting 22. East Cowes were unable to raise a side and conceded their game to Porchfield Bakeries.
