EPP kept hold of their place at the top of Div 1 of the Leslies Motors Indoor League with a narrow 12 run victory over Shanklin last Sunday. Ben White struck 63 as his Shanklin side tried to chase down the EPP’s 110-2 but it was to no avail as they were bowled out for 98. Earlier, John Buckman (26 not out) and Ben Attrill (28 not out) were the top EPP scorers.

Also in Div 1, Newport were awarded the points after their opponents, Brading, were unable to raise a side.

Div 2 has new leaders. Ryde Cavaliers have moved into the top spot after bowling Health Associates out for just 45. Cavaliers wasted no time in reaching their target, hitting the winning runs in just 7 overs.

Even though they conceded 63 extras, Prison Officers overcame Cowes to win by 5 wickets. The Officer’s Mark Allen (2-8) made sure Cowes were restricted to 94-4, a total passed by the Officers for the loss of just 1 wicket (Gary Kimber 27 not out).

Young Will Mew (22 not out) helped his side, Ryde School, to a total of 129-3 against Northwood 2nds. Despite Callum Witham striking 27, it was the School’s Ben Attrill (4-19) who made sure they held on for a 2 wicket win.
